The Author describes the system of redundancies for economic reasons in Germany. He analyses the conditions under which a redundancy for economical reasons is justified. In turn, he takes into consideration the criteria of choice of the workers to be made redundant; these have to comply with social standards, that is to say that the workers to be made redundant will be those who need a job less. Finally, he describes the redundancy procedure, which is carried out with the intervention of the Management Council.
