El presente trabajo explora el nuevo enfoque de género que se abre en Les passions de l’âme al compás de la discusión epistolar sobre la vida afectiva que su autor mantiene previamente con Isabel de con Isabel de Bohemia. Se comenzará señalando la ruptura con el binarismo de los modelos humoralistas tradicionales para valorar seguidamente, a partir de la consideración de la admiración y de su articulación con la generosidad, el marco intersubjetivo más inclusivo e igualitario que el planteamiento cartesiano facilita. El análisis encontrará su puesta en escena en el elogioso –e hiperbólico– retrato que Descartes hace de su interlocutora y la disonante mirada que ella le devuelve problematizando la condición situada de la subjetividad y las circunstancias que median el reconocimiento en el caso de las mujeres
This paper explores the new gender approach that emerges in Les passions de l'âme in line with the previous epistolary discussion that the author has about emotional life with Élisabeth of Bohemia. First of all, it will be highlighted the break with the binarism of traditional humoralist models and then assessed, through the consideration of admiration and and its articulation with generosity, the more inclusive and egalitarian intersubjective frame facilitated by Descartes. The analysis will be set against the backdrop of the laudatory –and hyperbolic– portrait that Descartes makes of his interlocutor and the dissonant glance that she gives him, as far as she problematizes the situated condition of subjectivity and the circumstances that mediate the recognition in the case of women.
