En este trabajo nos interesa profundizar en los vínculos entre la contracultura Hardcore-Punk y el activismo contra el maltrato y por la liberación animal. Nos proponemos visibilizar y analizar distintas acciones que transcurrieron entre la segunda mitad de la década del ochenta y la primera mitad de los años noventa del siglo XX, desde marchas contra McDonald’s, notas contra el sufrimiento animal y difusión del vegetarianismo hasta las acciones de grupos de afinidad y colectivos como la Cooperativa Straight Edge Libertaria. Sostenemos que el activismo por la liberación animal no fue una cuestión secundaria para quienes se sentían interpeladxs por la contracultura Hardcore-Punk, sino que formaba parte de las luchas contra el sistema. A partir del análisis de fanzines, flyers y la realización de entrevistas nos interesa hacer hincapié en las redes e intertextualidades desplegadas a través del tiempo y el espacio.
In this article we are interested in delving into the links between the Hardcore-Punk counterculture and activism against mistreatment and for animal liberation. We propose to make visible and analyse different actions that took place between the second half of the 1980s and the first half of the 1990s, from marches against McDonald's, notes against animal suffering and the spread of vegetarianism to the actions of affinity groups and collectives such as the Straight Edge Libertarian Cooperative. We argue that animal liberation activism was not a secondary issue for those who felt challenged by the Hardcore-Punk counterculture, but was part of the struggles against the system. From the analysis of fanzines, flyers and interviews we are interested in emphasising the networks and intertextualities deployed through time and space.
