El presente artículo, versión editada de la ponencia presentada por el autor en las Jornadas E. P. Thompson que tuvieron lugar en la Universidad Di Tella en diciembre de 2023, sigue los avatares de la recepción de la obra del autor de La formación de la clase obrera en Inglaterra en el mundo hispanohablante, con especial énfasis en las casas editoriales y las revistas que asumieron traducciones y reseñas de sus libros y artículos. Destaca la labor que le cupo a Josep Fontana y otros editores e historiadores sociales catalanes a partir de fines de la década de 1970. A continuación presenta un cuadro de las diversas vías de recepción thompsoniana en la Argentina durante las décadas de 1980 y 1990 (docencia, revistas, ediciones) señalando algunos elementos de comparación con las recepciones chilena, brasileña y mexicana
This article, an edited version of the paper presented by the author at the E. P. Thompson Conferences held at the Universidad Di Tella in December 2023, traces the reception of the work of the author of The Making of the English Working Class in the Spanish-speaking world, with special emphasis on the publishing houses and journals that took on translations and reviews of his books and articles. It highlights the work of Josep Fontana and other Catalan editors and social historians starting in the late 1970s. It then presents an overview of the various paths of Thompson's reception in Argentina during the 1980s and 1990s (teaching, journals, editions), pointing out some comparative elements with the receptions in Chile, Brazil, and Mexico.
