As eleições presidenciais de 2022 foram concentradas na disputa entre a candidatura progressista da frente de centro-esquerda representada por Lula (PT) e a conservadora e de extrema direita personificada por Bolsonaro (PL), num contexto de polarização ideológica, o qual reforçou o uso de desinformação para desqualificar adversários políticos, imprensa, sistema eleitoral e a própria essência da democracia, o que gerou ações reativas da Justiça Eleitoral e do Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) a fim de minimizar o impacto de mentiras e boatos principalmente no contexto da corrida presidencial. Com uma abordagem exploratória documental, a proposta deste artigo é distinguir retóricas desinformativas e identificar os procedimentos desenvolvidos pela Justiça Eleitoral no combate à desinformação, depreendendo que, apesar de limitações práticas e técnicas na luta contra narrativas desinformacionais, a Justiça Eleitoral foi fundamental para a preservação da higidez do processo eleitoral e da própria liberdade democrática no Brasil.
The 2022 presidential elections were centered around the competition between the progressive candidacy of the center-left front represented by Lula (PT) and the conservative and far-right stance embodied by Bolsonaro (PL), within a backdrop of ideological polarization. This environment further fueled the utilization of disinformation to discredit political adversaries, the press, the electoral system, and the very essence of democracy. Consequently, this gave rise to reactive measures taken by the Electoral Justice and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to mitigate the impact of falsehoods and rumors, particularly in the context of the presidential race.Employing an exploratory documentary approach, the purpose of this article is to discern disinformative rhetoric and to identify the strategies employed by the Electoral Justice in countering disinformation. This examination reveals that despite practical and technical limitations in combating disinformation narratives, the Electoral Justice played a pivotal role in upholding the integrity of the electoral process and democratic freedom in Brazil.
