En este trabajo se analiza el grado de cumplimiento de la responsabilidad social de instituciones de educación superior en Ecuador, a partir de la información presentada por dichas instituciones en su rendición de cuentas. Para esto, se recopiló la información presentada en sus sitios web y se analizó para determinar variables que forman parte de un índice de responsabilidad social, que permiten estimar este cumplimiento, los cuales cumplen las condiciones de imparcialidad, objetividad, verificabilidad y representación fidedigna. De las instituciones analizadas, se determinó que la mayoría de las universidades cumplen entre un cincuenta y un setenta por ciento con su rol de responsabilidad social.
This paper analyzes the degree of compliance with social responsibility of higher education institutions on Ecuador based on the information presented by these institutions in their accountability reports. To do this, the information presented on their websites was collected and analyzed to determine variables that form part of a social responsibility index, which allow estimating this compliance, which meet the conditions of impartiality, objectivity, verifiability and faithful representation. Of the institutions analyzed, it was determined that the majority of universities comply between fifty and seventy percent with their role of social responsibility.
