Este texto entiende el desarrollo de la intervención social del Estado a partir de la década de 1930 como parte del proceso de la institucionalización y legitimación del Trabajo Social como asistencia profesionalizada. Coincide en comprender la vinculación de estos procesos con la emergencia de las profesiones feminizadas, especialmente las asociadas a los cuidados y las políticas socio sanitarias. La intención del presente artículo es incluir la variable del ambiente en la educación sanitaria y la profilaxis social, como dispositivo de la higiene y la medicina social, desde una matriz eugenésica. Para este análisis se considerarán algunos textos publicados en los anales de la Asociación Argentina de Biotipología, Eugenesia y Medicina Social (AABEMS). Así como se indagará el concepto de educación sanitaria con relación al servicio social como parte de la atención de la salud, y el accionar de las visitadoras y asistentes sociales en este espacio. Este aporte supone dar visibilidad a la labor de esta profesión que contribuyó, entre otras, a la configuración del campo social y sanitario.
This text understands the development of state social intervention beginning in the 1930s as part of the process of institutionalizing and legitimizing social work as a professionalized form of care. It concurs in understanding the connection between these processes and the emergence of feminized professions, especially those associated with care and social health policies. The purpose of this article is to include the variable of the environment in health education and social prophylaxis, as a device for hygiene and social medicine, from a eugenic perspective. For this analysis, several texts published in the annals of the Argentine Association of Biotypology, Eugenics, and Social Medicine (AABEMS) will be considered. The concept of health education in relation to social service as part of health care, and the actions of social workers and visitors in this context, will be explored. This contribution aims to give visibility to the work of this profession, which contributed, among other things, to the configuration of the social and health fields.
