El lenguaje médico es un lenguaje científico y técnico, y como tal, debe respetar cuatro pilares básicos destacados: la precisión, la claridad, la concisión y la veracidad. Por ello, pese a ser un lenguaje de especialidad, no debe quedar exento de lo que dictamina la normativa de la lengua española, sino que debe ajustarse a ella de forma rigurosa. No obstante, lejos de cumplirse esas cuatro premisas mencionadas anteriormente, observamos que en este tipo de discurso abundan ciertas deficiencias ortográficas, gramaticales, léxicas y estilísticas, que impiden que la información transmitida llegue de una forma clara y transparente a la población. En este estudio pretendemos realizar un análisis cualitativo sobre todos aquellos elementos lingüísticos que dificultan la comprensión del discurso médico a partir de un corpus de textos de divulgación para pacientes interesados en el tema de la Reproducción Asistida.
Medical language is a scientific and technical language, and as such, it must respect four basic pillars: precision, clarity, conciseness and veracity. Therefore, despite being a specialized language, it should not be exempt from the rules of the Spanish language, but should be rigorously adjusted to them. However, far from complying with these four premises mentioned above, we observe that this type of discourse abounds in certain orthographic, grammatical, lexical and stylistic deficiencies, which prevent the information transmitted from reaching the population in a clear and transparent manner. In this study we intend to carry out a qualitative analysis of all those linguistic elements that hinder the understanding of medical discourse from a corpus of popularization texts for patients interested in the topic of Assisted Reproduction.
