Este artículo reconfigura el concepto de lectura sintomal, popularizado a partir de Para leer El capital, y examina su capacidad para desvelar la tensión entre lo visible y lo invisible en el discurso. Lejos de limitarse a detectar errores, la lectura sintomal se plantea como postura filosófica que reconoce que el objeto surge en la interacción entre lo manifiesto y lo latente. Se proponen hipótesis: la búsqueda de lo inconsciente como falla estructural, la constitución de una estructura dinámica que articula lo visible y lo invisible, y una unidad dividida. Asimismo, se establece un vínculo con el análisis ideológico, evidenciando que la contradicción interna del discurso es constitutiva de la producción del cono-cimiento. El estudio se centra en el tratamiento de Althusser sobre las lecturas que Marx realizó de los economistas clásicos, destacando el papel de las metáforas visuales en la articulación de problemáticas, lo cual resalta la novedad de la operación althusseriana.
The article reconfigures the concept of symptomatic reading, popularized through Reading Capital, and examines its capacity to unveil the structur-al tension between the visible and the invisible in discourse. Far from merely detecting errors, symptomatic reading is presented as a philosophical stance that acknowledges that the textual object emerges from the interaction between what is manifest and what is latent. Hypotheses are proposed: the search for the unconscious as a structural flaw, the establishment of a dynamic structure that articulates the visible and the invisible, and a divided unity inherent in the ob-ject. Likewise, a link with ideological analysis is established, demonstrating that the internal contradiction of discourse is constitutive of knowledge production. The study focuses on Althusser’s treatment of the readings that Marx performs on classical economists, highlighting the role of visual metaphors in articulating problematic issues, which underscores the novelty of the Althusserian opera-tion, thereby enriching theoretical inquiry.
