El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la problemática social de la vulneración de los derechos humanos de niñas, niños y adolescentes y cómo la educación social abona en generar cambios y transformaciones sociales. En México y otros países de Latinoamérica impera un escenario de anulación, vulneración o limitación de sus derechos. Históricamente es un grupo que ha sido discriminado por su minoría de edad, lo que refleja la precariedad y falta de mecanismos institucionales para su protección. Para problematizar esta situación se integran los informes del Fondo de las Naciones Unidas para la Infancia (UNICEF), la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos (CNDH) y la Red Por los Derechos de la Infancia en México (REDIM). Asimismo, se retoma la educación social como una forma de intervención que contribuye al empoderamiento y liderazgo que niñas, niños y adolescentes que pueden emprender para generar cambios en su entorno social y en las relaciones que establecen con los adultos.
This article aims to analyze the social problem of the violation of the human rights of chil-dren and adolescents and how social education contributes to generating social change and transformation. In Mexico and other Latin American countries, a scenario of annul-ment, violation, or limitation of their rights prevails. Historically, this group has been dis-criminated against due to their minority status, reflecting the precariousness and lack of institutional mechanisms for their protection. To address this situation, reports from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), and the Network for the Rights of Children in Mexico (REDIM) are included. Likewise, so-cial education is revisited as a form of intervention that contributes to the empowerment and leadership that children and adolescents can undertake to generate changes in their social environment and in the relationships they establish with adults.
