The Borborema Plateau is a region that exemplifies many of the classical concepts and theories of landscape evolution, including the Geographic Cycle and the Pediplanation Theory. However, its geological history is complex and multifaceted, influenced not only by erosional processes but also by tectonic events and climatic factors. A detailed study of this region is crucial for understanding its evolution and the diversity of landscapes that constitute it. the objective of this research is to establish connections between aspects related to geological formation, geomorphology and areas of exceptional characteristics in the Borborema Plateau through a literature review. The main example of an exception area is the Serra dos Martins Formation, which is the only Etchplanation preserved in the Plateau dome and has mesetas morphology.
