El presente artículo explora cómo la identidad territorial refuerza las prácticas comunitarias y la organización política en un municipio de usos y costumbres, tomando como estudio de caso el municipio de Ixtlán de Juárez en Oaxaca. Se indaga cómo los habitantes construyen su territorio y la manera en que se vincula con la reproducción de sus prácticas comunitarias. La metodología se basa en encuestas y entrevistas. Se destaca que los habitantes de Ixtlán fomentan una identificación hacia el territorio que les permite dar estabilidad a sus prácticas comunitarias para el funcionamiento político del municipio.
This article explores how territorial identity reinforces community practices and political organization in a municipality with traditional customs, using the municipality of Ixtlán de Juárez in Oaxaca as a case study. It investigates how the inhabitants of this municipality construct their territory and how this is linked to the reproduction of their communal practices. The methodology is based on surveys and interviews, highlighting that, in Ixtlán, its inhabitants have fostered a strong identification with their territory, that has allowed them to provide stability to their community practices for the political functioning of the municipality.
