Este trabajo busca evidenciar la circulación transnacional de profesionales, así como sus ideas y saberes, en los campos de la Arquitectura, las Ingenierías y las Ciencias Sociales, entre el Centro Interamericano de Vivienda y Planeamiento (CINVA) y la Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nordeste (SUDENE). Como objeto de análisis, se toman las trayectorias de Hebe Gonçalves, Carlos Carneiro y Gerson Sampaio, actores destacados tanto por su tránsito entre instituciones latinoamericanas en las décadas de 1950 y 1960, cuanto por su involucramiento en iniciativas brasileñas en la interfaz entre la programación habitacional y la planificación territorial. Se plantea la hipótesis de que su circulación haya contribuido a la introducción y consolidación de la temática habitacional en la agenda de la SUDENE, estableciendo un punto de contacto con la actuación del CINVA. Esto evidencia la inserción de Brasil y de sus círculos académico-profesionales en las redes latinoamericanas de estos campos, así como la influencia de dichos aportes sobre la región Nordeste y, en particular, el estado de Pernambuco.
This study seeks to highlight the transnational circulation of professionals, as well as their ideas, and knowledge within the fields of Architecture, Engineering, and the Social Sciences, focusing on the connections between the Centro Interamericano de Vivienda y Planeamiento (cinva) and the Superintendência do Desenvolvimento do Nor-deste (sudene). The analysis centers on the professional trajectories of Hebe Gonçalves, Carlos Carneiro, and Gerson Sampaio—key figures noted for their movement across Latin American institutions during the 1950s and 1960s, and for their involvement in Bra-zilian initiatives at the intersection of housing programs and territorial planning. It is hypothesized that their circulation played a role in introducing and consolidating housing issues on sudene’s agenda, thereby establishing a point of contact with cinva’s activities. This analysis reveals Brazil’s integration—and that of its academic and professional cir-cles—into Latin American networks within these fields, as well as the influence of these exchanges on the Northeast region, particularly in Pernambuco.
