A veinte años de la declaración del Sitio Patrimonio Mundial de Valparaíso (SPMV), la condición actual de este patrimonio es compleja, por su evidente deterioro. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar si los actores sociales que interactúan con el Sitio logran identificar su ubicación física, e indagar sobre su valoración de dicho bien y su capacidad de establecer algún grado de responsabilidad, personal o colectiva, en el deterioro del Sitio a partir de sus actividades cotidianas. Mediante una encuesta digital y un enfoque exploratorio que toma en consideración las perspectivas y enfoques teóricos revisados, los resultados muestran una alta valoración social por parte de los actores sociales que interactúan en el Sitio. Sin embargo, no perciben que sus actividades cotidianas contribuyan a su deterioro, evidenciándose una falta de identificación con el patrimonio y de reconocimiento de este, además de la carencia de una comunicación efectiva y participativa para su divulgación.
wenty years after the declaration of Valparaíso as a World Heritage Site (whs), the current condition of this heritage is complex, given its evident deterioration. The aim of this study is to analyze whether the social actors interacting with the Site are able to identify its physical location, assess its value, and recognize their individual or collective responsibility in the deterioration of the site due to their daily activities. Through a digital survey and an exploratory approach that considers the reviewed perspectives and theoretical frameworks, the results show a high social appraisal from the social actors interacting at the Site. However, they do not perceive that their daily activities contribute to its deterioration, revealing a lack of identification with the heritage and recognition of it, as well as a lack of effective and participative communication for its dissemination
