El molino de papel del Real Sitio de San Fernando (Madrid): lecturas e hipótesis sobre un edificio extinto

    El Real Sitio de San Fernando fue fundado a mediados del siglo XVIII con la finalidad de acoger el proyecto de una fábrica de paños, una más de las industrias estratégicas en aquel momento y que eran auspiciadas por la Corona. No obstante el proyecto duró medio siglo y el real sitio, algo más de la centuria. Como una pieza más del conjunto se construyó un molino dedicado a factoría de cartón y papel, entonces auxiliar necesario de la fabricación textil. Superó en poco tiempo a la industria matriz y se desconoce la ubicación que tuvo. En este texto, y como principal aportación, abordamos una hipótesis sobre su emplazamiento.

    The Royal Site of San Fernando was founded in the mid 18th Century with the aim of hosting a clothing factory; one more of the strategic industries of the moment, supported by the Crown. However, the project lasted half a century and the Royal Site more than one. As part of the compound, a will was built to manufacture cardboard and paper, essential for the fabrication of clothing. This mill soon overtook the original factory, but its exact location is unknown. This paper off ers a hypothesis about its actual location.
