En este libro inédito, que data de 1893, cuando Émile Durkheim impartía un curso de Sociología criminal (recuperado y editado por Matthieu Béra), el autor francés despliega una tipología de crímenes según sus causas sociales, entre los que destacan los crímenes altruistas, los atáxicos, los alcohólicos y los anómicos. Antes de llegar a esta innovadora clasificación, el autor define sociológicamente al crimen, después problematiza algunos factores cósmicos, individuales, antropológicos y neurológicos que influyen en él hasta llegar a las causas sociales de este fenómeno.
In this unpublished book by Émile Durkheim dating from 1893, while teaching a course on criminal sociology (retrieved and edited by Dr. Matthieu Béra), the French author deploys a typology of crimes according to their social causes. Among these, the author highlights the following types of crimes: altruistic; ataxic; alcoholic; and anomic. Before arriving at this innovative criminal typology, the Gallic author begins by sociologically defining crime, then problematizes certain cosmic, individual, anthropological, and neurological factors that may influence crime, until reaching the social causes of this phenomenon.
