La experiencia estudiantil es un tema relevante para los sistemas de educación superior, sobre todo en un contexto de masificación de la matricula. Incide en áreas como el ocio, el bienestar, las oportunidades profesionales y la proyección laboral. Esta cuestión ha cobrado importancia en carreras de gran dificultad, como las ingenierías. Este artículo realiza un estudio bibliométrico sobre la experiencia estudiantil en los programas de ingenierías, tanto a nivel iberoamericano como chileno, a partir de una revisión de la base Web of Science. En Chile, no se observa un incremento en la producción de conocimiento y los estudios se centran principalmente en tres temáticas: las habilidades y competencias necesarias para los futuros ingenieros, la colaboración entre universidades y empresas, y la implementación de técnicas alternativas y didácticas de enseñanza. Se concluye que el área de estudio es emergente, y que existen posibilidades de entregar aportes a la formulación políticas públicas en educación en ingeniería, y en educación superior en general.
Student experience is a relevant issue for higher education systems, especially in the context of mass enrollment. It affects leisure, welfare, professional opportunities, and career projection. This issue has gained importance in careers of great difficulty, such as engineering. This article carries out a bibliometric study on the student experience in engineering programs, both at the Ibero-American and Chilean levels, based on a review of the Web of Science database. In Chile, there is no increase in knowledge production. The studies mainly focus on three topics: the skills and competencies required for future engineers, the collaboration between universities and companies, and implementing alternative techniques and teaching didactics. It is concluded that the study area is emerging, and there are possibilities to contribute to formulating public policies in engineering education and higher education.
