En las últimas dos décadas ha habido un creciente interés en la filosofía angloparlante contemporánea por el problema de la vinculación entre normas y juicios como clave para entender la naturaleza de lo mental. En esta línea, Robert Brandom ha elaborado un ambicioso proyecto filosófico, el cual explícitamente se reconoce como retomando diversas tesis que atribuye a la filosofía de Kant. Brandom ha defendido que el kantismo representa un giro normativo respecto de la naturaleza de los conceptos, el cual debe ser entendido como un caso de intelectualismo normativista. Asimismo, considera que las reflexiones wittgensteinianas en torno al seguir una regla constituyen un argumento en contra de esta forma de normativismo. Brandom establece así una reapropiación críticamente medida de la filosofía crítica kantiana a través de una óptica pragmatista. El propósito del presente trabajo es estudiar el tipo de normatividad atribuida a Kant en esta interpretación, con el objetivo de elaborar argumentos en su contra por Brandom. Se espera así poder desarrollar una comprensión más acabada de la relación entre la filosofía crítica kantiana y el pragmatismo racionalista brandomiano acerca de la naturaleza normativa de los conceptos y las reglas.
In the last two decades there has been a growing interest in contemporary anglo-speaking phi-losophy on the relation between norms and judgments as a key to understanding the nature of the mind. In this vein, Robert Brandom has elaborated an ambitious philosophical project, which he explicitly acknowledges as taking up several theses that he attributes to Kant’s philosophy. Brandom has argued that kantianism rep-resents a normative turn regarding the nature of human concepts, one that needs to be thought of as a kind of intellectualist normativism. Additionally, he considers that the wittgensteinian reflections on rule-following constitute a strong argument against this specific type of normativism. Brandom thus establishes a critically mediated reappropriation of Kantian philosophy through a pragmatist lens. The purpose of the present paper is to study the kind of normativity attributed to Kant in this interpretation, and to develop arguments against it. The hope is to develop a better understanding of the relationship between Kantian critical philosophy and Brandomian rationalist pragmatism concerning the normative nature of concepts and rules.
