This study analyzes the pricing trends of second-hand Japanese books on Amazon Japan. Utilizing a data set derived from a library book donation, the research investigates the impact of condition on price, the variability in pricing, and the role of sellers in determining prices. Based on a data set of 3282 listings, the findings indicate that Japanese second-hand books on Amazon Japan are frequently overvalued, and books in lower-quality condition are overvalued most often. The article also makes some initial comparisons of prices on Amazon Japan with Furuhonya, another platform for second-hand Japanese books. The research provides practical recommendations for librarians and individuals seeking to purchase second-hand Japanese books at reasonable prices
