La rendición de cuentas judicial es una cuestión compleja, pero fundamental, para una verdadera transformación y legitimación del Poder Judicial. Nuestro sistema jurídico ha tenido avances, pero aún presenta grandes retos, pues existen dudas sobre su conceptualización, materialización, evaluación y sanción. En este trabajo se reflexiona sobre algunas de estas cuestiones, aunque más específicamente se argumenta a favor de dos acciones enfocadas a mejorar el sistema de rendición de cuentas e incrementar la legitimidad social de los jueces mexicanos; por un lado, las asambleas jurídicas, y por otro, el imperativo de contar con jueces argumentistas.
Judicial accountability is a complex but fundamental issue for a true trans-formation and legitimization of the Judiciary. In our legal system, it has made progress but still presents great challenges, as there are doubts about its conceptualization, materialization, evaluation, and sanction. This paper reflects on some of these issues, although more specifically it argues in favor of two actions focused on improving the accountability system and increasing the social legitimacy of Mexican judges: on the one hand, legal assemblies and, on the other, the imperative of having argumentative judges.
