Resumen de Feminicide and the Necropolitics of Latin American Migration in the United States

• This article focuses on the dialectic between the ordinary invisibility of feminicide crimes in the United States and the exceptional visibility of select others. Using analytic perspectives from feminist and anthropological perspectives, it highlights feminicide cases from the rural Midwestern United States and places them in the broader context of the on-going crisis of murdered women in the Americas. It argues that the violent murders of young white college-educated women are used instrumentally to deepen and advance immigration policy against racialized Latin American populations while continuing to render all women vulnerable to lethal intimate partner violence through public erasure and institutional impunity.
