The article presents the results of the study “Mapping of initiatives aiming at the integration and inclusion of third countries nationals through libraries and local partnerships in Italy” conducted by Biblioteche Senza Frontiere Italia in the framework of “Library Bridges: Promoting the integration and inclusion of third country nationals in Europe through libraries and local partnerships (LiBri)”, a project co-financed by the EU through the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF). The article proposes a theoretical classification of public libraries based on the analysis of two dimensions: the partnership and the strategies that libraries implement to promote the inclusion and integration of third-country nationals, especially migrants. The taxonomy is the result of a research methodology which refers to the “Grounded Theory” and therefore it has a purely investigative character. The article is based on a desk research as well as the data obtained through semi-structured interviews, focus group and participant observations. The results of the study provide useful recommendations to libraries, associations and institutions for the development of inclusion and partnership strategies among libraries and with other stakeholders promoting the integration of third-country nationals
