Este estudio de carácter cualitativo, tiene como propósito revelar los significados construidos por los docentes de educación superior en Colombia, en particular la Universidad de La Guajira sobre la investigación: Un Nudo Crítico En La Docencia Universitaria. Se elaboró sobre la base del diseño sugerido por Bonilla y Rodríguez (1) y adaptado por Santis (2009). El método elegido dentro de la tradición cualitativa fue el etnográfico apoyado en el fundamento epistemológico de la filosofía fenomenológica, combinado con la técnica de análisis de datos sugerida por Strauss y Corbin (2), la práctica de recogida de datos consistió en 10 entrevistas a docentes universitarios grabadas, transcritas e interpretadas por el investigador, luego contrastada con los informantes dándole continua validez interpretativa y descriptiva a los datos y sus significados. Se agruparon en 4 temas, 11 categorías emergentes y 4 sub categorías con mayor significancia, de acuerdo a la oralidad de los informantes. Se analizaron y fueron integradas en un gráfico que permitió comprender la condición de los docentes universitarios sobre la función de investigación en la docencia universitaria. Se concluye, que los docentes de la Universidad de La Guajira presentan baja productividad investigativa, por lo tanto, es necesario desarrollar sus competencias investigativasPalabras clave: Investigación cualitativa, actitud, resistencia al cambio, competencias investigativas, función investigación, docencia universitaria.
The qualitative study aims to uncover the meanings constructed by the university teachers of higher education in Colombia, including the University of La Guajira on the investigation: a critical junction in university teaching. It was developed on the basis of the design suggested by Bonilla and Rodriguez (1) and adapted by Santis (2009). The method chosen within the tradition of ethnographic qualitative was supported in the epistemologic basis of the phenomenological philosophy, combined until the technique of data analysis suggested by Strauss and Corbin (2). The practice of data collection consisted on 10 interviews Academics taped, transcribed and performed by the investigator, then contrasted with the the informants by giving continued validity of the interpretative and descriptive data and their meanings. It 10as revealed 4 themes, emerging 11 categories and sub categories with 4 more significance, according to the oral tradition of the informants. They were analyzed and were incorporated into a graphic which. Provided the status of university teachers on the role of research in university teaching, will be part of his study as a continuation of research originated in the present. It is concluded, that the teachers of´l University of Guajira present a scientific fall of productivity consequently, is necessary to develop its competences of research.Key Words: Qualitative research, attitude, resistance to change, investigative skills, research competences, university teaching.
