Explora las percepciones sobre los mecanismos institucionales del Estado instaurados para el ejercicio de los derechos políticos de las personas emigrantes costarricenses, con el fin de examinar mediante la sociología política la creación de sentidos sobre la relación Estado-ciudadanía en el contexto de la migración. A partir de investigación documental y la aplicación de grupos focales, describe los diferentes retos asociados al ejercicio de los derechos políticos para la persona emigrante costarricense y esboza la complejidad social detrás de procesos de reconfiguración identitaria, como parte de los procesos de migración que inciden sobre el espacio político. En las conclusiones, se comparten recomendaciones de futuras investigaciones, así como aquellas emitidas por la población de estudio, como una manera de aportar desde los resultados de esta investigación.
The article explores the perceptions of the institutional mechanisms of the State established for the exercise of the political rights of Costa Rican emigrants, to examine, through political sociology, the creation of sense concerning the State-citizenship relationship in the context of migration. Based on documentary research and the application of focus groups, the article describes the different challenges associated with the exercise of political rights for Costa Rican migrants and outlines the social complexity behind identity reconfiguration processes, as part of the migration processes that affect the political space. In the conclusions, recommendations for future research are shared, as well as those issued by the study population, as a way of contributing from the results of this research.
