El presente trabajo tiene como objeto acercarnos a los problemas que tienen los jóvenes en relación con el sistema de protección social, especialmente, con la Seguridad Social, para el acceso tanto al ámbito de aplicación como a la cobertura ofrecida por las prestaciones. Examinamos los requisitos del nivel contributivo y del nivel asistencial de la Seguridad Social y, de forma específica la protección por desempleo, para determinar si hay un trato desfavorable para este colectivo.
The aim of this paper is to examine the problems faced by young people in relation to the social protection system, especially Social Security, in terms of access to both the scope of application and the coverage offered by benefits. We examine the requirements of the contributory and welfare levels of Social Security and, specifically, unemployment protection, in order to determine whether there is unfavourable treatment for this group.
