A una década de la promulgación de la Ley de Identidad de Género en Argentina, nos interesa focalizar en una problemática poco explorada: la inclusión de mujeres trans en el deporte. Particularmente, en este artículo buscamos comprender los sentidos que adquiere una práctica generizada y generizante como el fútbol, para las jugadoras trans. Desde un enfoque cualitativo y valiéndonos de la observación participante y entrevistas en profundidad con las futbolistas de una liga femenina del norte de Argentina, pudimos arribar a que el fútbol en particular y los deportes en general constituyen un espacio de ejercicio de ciudadanía y de reafirmación de la identidad pocas veces experimentado para este sector social. Esto implica una interpelación a las instituciones deportivas para desbinarizar y desjudicializar la mirada en torno a las reglamentaciones históricas en dicho ámbito.
A decade after the promulgation of the Gender Identity law in Argentina, we are interested in focusing into an unexplored topic: the inclusion of transgender women in sports. Particularly, in this article we are looking forward to understanding the meanings that a gendered and gendering practice such as football has for transgender female players. With a qualitative approach, participant observation and very deep interviews to football players of a female league in Nothern Argentina, we were able to determinate that football in particular, and sports in general, shape a space where they can exert their citizenship and reaffirm their identity in a way that this social sector experienced few times before. This implies an interpellation to the sport institutions to debinarize and dejudicialize the historical approach they took on the regulations in this environment.
