En este artículo, su autor hace una travesía por los poemas, en los que, Jorge Luis Borges, confiesa el drama de la ceguera, la cual le sirvió de instrumento de creación. Es decir, no la vio como un padecimiento ni como una tragedia personal, sino como un destino y una herencia paterna que esperaba, pero que le permitió ejercitar la memoria y ahondar en el mundo del sueño y practicar el arte de la memoria. Desde que quedó ciego, hacia 1955, dictaba sus textos, y este recurso técnico, se observa y percibe, con más claridad, no en sus cuentos y ensayos, sino en sus poemas porque la rima y el verso le permitían memorizarlos en la mente y aprendérselos. De ahí que, el autor, observe ciertas reiteraciones, y las evocaciones de los mismos temas y metáforas, el mismo ritmo de los versos y las mismas cadencias, las cuales cita en varios de sus versos más memorables, con la metáfora de la ceguera como telón de fondo y temática alegórica.
In this article, the author embarks on a journey through the poems in which Jorge Luis Borges confesses the drama of blindness, which served him as an instrument for creation. That is to say, he did not see it as a suffering or a personal tragedy, but rather as a destiny and a paternal inheritance that he expected, but which allowed him to exercise his memory and delve into the world of dreams and practice the art of memory. Since becoming blind, around 1955, he dictated his works, and this technical resource is observed and perceived with more clarity, not in his stories and essays, but in his poems because the rhythm and verses allowed him to memorize them and learn them. Hence, the author observes certain reiterations, and the evocations of the same themes and metaphors, the same rhythm of the verses and the same cadences, which he cites in several of his most memorable verses, with the metaphor of blindness as a backdrop and allegorical theme.
