El presente artículo tiene como objetivo resaltar algunos elementos de otras constituciones de la región latinoamericana que inspiraron la creación, en 1949, del Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones (TSE) y sus características. A la vez, se busca destacar los elementos donde presenta una verdadera originalidad. Así, se rescata el aporte esencial para poder contar con un padrón electoral confiable que brindó la configuración del Registro Civil como dependencia del TSE desde la creación de este. El desempeño exitoso del TSE a lo largo de estos 75 años ha demostrado que estos elementos básicos fueron esenciales para su fortalecimiento, aunque otros aspectos innovadores han permitido un mejor posicionamiento de la institución
The aim of this article is to highlight some elements of other constitutions in the Latin American region that inspired the creation, in 1949, of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) and its characteristics. Likewise, it seeks to highlight the elements where it presents a true originality. Thus, the essential contribution of having a reliable electoral registry that provided the configuration of the Civil Registry as a dependency of the TSE since its creation is rescued. The successful performance of the TSE throughout these 75 years has shown that these basic elements were essential for its strengthening, even though other innovative aspects have allowed a better positioning of the institution
