Con base en lo propuesto por Umberto Eco en Lector in fabula, se analizan los rasgos y participación del lector modelo de La pesquisa, de Juan José Saer. El objetivo es examinar las instrucciones de lectura que este texto presenta por medio de su estructura y contenido, mostrar un ejemplo del tipo de información que solicita para una mejor comprensión y exponer los papeles que configura. A partir de ello, se busca confirmar la hipótesis de que La pesquisa aspira y construye a un lector modelo que desempeña cuatro roles: investigador, cómplice, testigo y creador. De esta manera, se resalta la importancia del lector como decodificador.
Based on Umberto Eco’s proposal in Lector in fabula, this study analyzes the features and participation of the model reader in The Investigation by Juan José Saer. The objective is to examine the reading instructions that the text presents through its structure and content, provide an example of the type of information it requires for better comprehension, and expose the roles it configures. From this analysis, the hypothesis is confirmed that The Investigation aspires to and constructs a model reader who takes on four roles: investigator, accomplice, witness, and creator. In this way, the study highlights the importance of the reader as a decoder.
