Con este texto se pretende mostrar cómo la tendencia descendente de las democracias en el mundo se está viendo agravada como consecuencia de la confluencia de dinámicas internas y externas a los estados provocadas por una profunda crisis del sistema de globalización neoliberal en un contexto de declive de la gran potencia hegemónica hasta el momento, EEUU. De este modo, se abordarán cuestiones que tienen que ver tanto con el mayor peso que están obteniendo en el plano internacional potencias con regímenes políticos no democráticos que operan en esta esfera con la intención de legitimarse, como con el propio deterioro de las democracias liberales durante los últimos diez o quince años en ámbitos tales como la calidad democrática o el deterioro del Estado de derecho y cuya última fase, eventualmente, sería la implantación de autocracias competitivas o electorales.
This text aims to show how the downward trend of democracies in the world is being aggravated because of the confluence of internal and external dynamics to the States caused by a deep crisis of the neoliberal globalization system in a context of decline of the great hegemonic power until now. USA. In this way, issues will be addressed that have to do both with the greater weight that powers with non-democratic political regimes that operate in this sphere with the intention of legitimizing themselves are obtaining at the international level, and with the deterioration of liberal democracies themselves during the last ten or fifteen years in areas such as the quality of democracy or the deterioration of the rule of law, and whose last phase, eventually, it would be the implementation of competitive or electoral autocracies.
