A few years after the outbreak of the pandemic and considering the significant literature that has highlighted its differentiated impact, especially from a gender perspective and with reference to the issues of work and employment, the essay proposes a rereading of art. 37 of the Italian Constitution. Taking into consideration the debate that was the background to its drafting, the author focuses on some critical elements that still characterize the relationship between the sphere of production and that of reproduction, while offering insights on the constitutional value of care, taking cue from the theoretical analysis suggested by Sandra Fredman.
