Este trabajo analiza sobre como concientizar la educación ambiental a través de la fotografía para la preservación de la Reserva Nacional de Paracas, desde la mirada de guardaparques y fotógrafos documentales con al menos 20 años de trayectoria. Se ha seleccionado esta reserva por ser la más reconocida en el Perú, que cuenta con numerosas especies de mamíferos, aves, peces y mariscos.
Además, atraviesa por conflictos con la pesca industrial en la actualidad. Se aplicó un paradigma interpretativo junto a un enfoque cualitativo con un diseño etnográfico. Los datos recopilados se analizaron a través del análisis temático, donde se encontraron hallazgos que sugieren la creación de programas educativos, uso de recursos visuales, la participación comunitaria con prácticas sostenibles y el turismo responsable. Por ende, la colaboración entre fotógrafos y guardaparques podría convertir a la fotografía en una herramienta para educar, concientizar y promocionar el respeto a la naturaleza.
This paper analyzes how to raise awareness about environmental education through photography for the preservation of the Paracas National Reserve, from the point of view of park rangers and documentary photographers with at least 20 years of experience. This reserve has been selected because it is the most recognized in Peru, with numerous species of mammals, birds, fish and shellfish. In addition, it is currently in conflict with industrial fishing. An interpretive paradigm was applied together with a qualitative approach with an ethnographic design. The data collected were analyzed through thematic analysis, where findings were found that suggest the creation of educational programs, use of visual resources, community participation with sustainable practices and responsible tourism. Therefore, collaboration between photographers and park rangers could turn photography into a tool to educate, raise awareness and promote respect for nature.
