En la literatura se argumenta que la realización de estudios cualitativos se centra en la generación de datos y no en los procedimientos para analizarlos.
El objetivo del estudio es explicar las fases para realizar análisis temático en 49 entrevistas semiestructuradas a estudiantes de postgrado en Tacna (Perú) a través del programa ATLAS.ti. Este es un programa de análisis cualitativo asistido por computadora. Se concluye que el análisis temático es un método riguroso y confiable para la interpretación y la representación de los datos cualitativos. Se recomienda capacitar a los investigadores, profesores y estudiantes sobre cómo realizar análisis temático con esta herramienta. El programa no realiza análisis automatizado de los datos; todas las relaciones que se crean durante el proceso de análisis basándose en la decisión del investigador. Esto pone de manifiesto la importancia del papel del investigador como analista crítico en todas las fases del proceso de investigación.
The literature argues that qualitative studies focus on data generation rather than on the procedures for analyzing it. The objective of this study is to explain the phases for conducting thematic analysis in 49 semi-structured interviews with postgraduate students in Tacna (Peru) using the ATLAS.ti software. This program is a computer-assisted qualitative analysis tool. It is concluded that thematic analysis is a rigorous and reliable method for interpreting and representing qualitative data. It is recommended to train researchers, professors, and students on how to perform thematic analysis with this tool. The program does not perform automated data analysis; all relationships created during the analysis process are based on the researcher’s decisions. This highlights the importance of the researcher’s role as a critical analyst throughout all phases of the research process.
