La plataforma de e-learning Moodle supone una importante innovación en el sistema educativo debido a la adopción de las nuevas tecnologías. Estudiantes y profesores tienen sus percepciones sobre los cambios introducidos en el estilo de aprendizaje. El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación fue analizar el uso de la plataforma Moodle en la enseñanza de la lengua inglesa desde una perspectiva universitaria. El estudio se llevó a cabo en una universidad pública de Ecuador y la población objetivo fueron estudiantes y profesores de inglés del el Instituto de lenguas de la UTM. La primera parte de esta investigación describe el tema objeto de estudio y su relación con el entorno universitario . Se utilizó un diseño de investigación de tipo descriptivo, lo que facilitó la recolección de información.
Además, en el estudio participaron una muestra de 150 alumnos y 7 profesores que estudian inglés. Se utilizó un cuestionario en línea como técnica de recolección de datos. Por último, se realizó un análisis de datos diagnósticos y descriptivos para la obtención de los resultados.
The Moodle e-learning platform represents an important innovation in the educational system due to the adoption of new technologies. Students and teachers have their perceptions about the changes introduced in the learning style.
The aim of this research work was to analyze the use of the Moodle platform in English language teaching from a university perspective. The study was carried out in a public university in Ecuador and the target population was students and teachers of English at the Language Institute of UTM. The first part of this research describes the subject of the study and its relationship with the university environment. A descriptive research design was used, which facilitated the collection of information. In addition, a sample of 150 students and 7 teachers studying English participated in the study. An online questionnaire was used as a data collection technique. Finally, a diagnostic and descriptive data analysis was performed to obtain the results.
