El presente artículo es resultado de las Jornadas de estudio organizadas por Patrimonio Nacional con motivo del quinto centenario de la fundación del Convento de Nuestra Señora de Atocha (Madrid). Se centra en el estudio de los mantos y prendas de indumentaria empleados para el ornato de la Virgen, estableciendo un recorrido cronológico a través de la historia de este ajuar, que abarca los cinco siglos de existencia de la fundación. Este artículo supone la primera aproximación al estudio del ajuar textil de la Virgen de Atocha y la primera entrega de una investigación en curso.
This article is the result of the Study Meetings organized by Patrimonio Nacional on the occasion of the fi fth centenary of the foundation of the Convent of Our Lady of Atocha (Madrid). It focuses on the study of the mantles and garments used for the adornment of the Virgin, establishing a chronological journey through the history of this trousseau spanning the fi ve centuries of the foundation’s existence. This is the fi rst approach to the study of the textile trousseau of Our Lady of Atocha and the fi rst installment of an ongoing investigation.
