En septiembre de 2022, el Secretario General de Naciones Unidas –António Guterres- señaló en su discurso ante la Asamblea General que “los ODS estaban lanzando un SOS”. El objetivo de este trabajo se centra en analizar el impacto de los acontecimientos más recientes respecto al cumplimiento con los ODS, de manera particular poniendo el foco en los efectos devastadores del cambio climático y la necesidad urgente de actuar. La necesidad de desarrollar las previsiones de la Agenda 2030, así como la opinión del Secretario General de Naciones Unidas, junto a la evolución de su perspectiva respecto a dicha Agenda respecto a la acción climática, son los principales aspectos abordados en este trabajo.
The United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres, addressed before the UN General Assembly in September 2022, that “the SDGs are issuing an SOS”. The objective of this paper is focused in the analysis of the impact of recent climate change events on the accomplishment with the SDGs. The need to develop the previsions of the 2030 Agenda and the opinion of the UN Secretary-General, together with the evolution of his opinion about the aforementioned Agenda focused on climate action are the main aspects to be covered on this essay.
