Identificar las asignaturas preferidas por los estudiantes en la universidad puede mejorar la experiencia del estudiante, aumentar su retención, e informar la toma de decisiones del plan de estudios. En esta investigación se determinaron la asignatura preferida de la carrera de Ingeniería Industrial y las asignaturas preferidas de cada semestre. La investigación con enfoque cuantitativo, fue descriptiva, no experimental, transversal y de campo. Se aplicó una encuesta a 87 estudiantes. Se determinó que la asignatura preferida es Introducción a la Ingeniería Industrial (validez Alfa de Cronbach 0.97). Los estudiantes solo emitieron su voto sobre las asignaturas cursadas, la mayoría de encuestados están cursando el 3 año (45%). Se concluye que los estudiantes consideran que las asignaturas que les generan gran impacto están relacionadas con la formulación de estrategias, administración económica-contable, diseño de planes y organización eficiente de recursos, solución de problemas, aspectos compartidos en las asignaturas preferidas en esta investigación.
In this research, the star course of the Industrial Engineering career at the University of Arequipa was identified, the star courses of each semester were specified and the reliability of the research was determined using Cronbach’s Alpha.
The research uses a quantitative approach, descriptive, non-experimental design, cross-sectional field, in 87 students of the Industrial Engineering career, to whom a survey was applied on the Likert scale. It was determined that the star course of the career of Industrial Engineering is Introduction to Industrial Engineering, and also the star courses of each semester, likewise, it presented a Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.97. The survey is filtered by the academic degree that the student is studying, considering this, they will only be able to cast votes up to the course they have taken, the majority of respondents are in the 3rd year (45%). It was concluded that the students consider that the courses that generate great impact are those that are based on the formulation of strategies, economic management - accounting, design of plans and efficient organization of resources at the collective and individual level, solution of problems, aspects shared in the star courses identified in this research.
