En este artículo se analizan los problemas que enfrenta Chile con posterioridad a la dictadura que se extendió entre 1973 y 1990. Particularmente, se enfoca en identificar cómo han actuado los órganos del Estado en la protección de las víctimas de las graves violaciones a los derechos humanos, ocurridas durante ese periodo, diferenciando etapas desde la recuperación de la democracia. Se evalúan algunos mecanismos de justicia transicional que se han implementado, como también los que pueden ser idóneos para lograr la reparación de las víctimas, el descubrimiento de la verdad y la pacificación de la sociedad.
This article analyzes the problems faced by Chile after the dictatorship that lasted from 1973 to 1990. Particularly, it focuses on identifying how the State agencies have worked to protect the victims of the serious human rights violations that occurred during that period, differentiating stages since the recovery of democracy. In addition, it examines some Transitional Justice mechanisms that have been implemented, as well as those that may be suitable to achieve reparations for the victims, the discovery of the truth and the pacification of society.
