Los entornos virtuales de aprendizaje (EVAs) han tomado vital importancia en los años de pandemia y hoy son imprescindibles, debido a ello las instituciones educativas superiores buscan mayores herramientas que puedan integrarse tecnológicamente a estos entornos y las utilizan para una optimización del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Siendo Moodle uno de los EVAs de mayor uso, es de particular interés el buscar una mejor integración de los estudiantes y profesores a esta plataforma, en este sentido el desarrollo de nuevos y mejores plugins refuerza la interacción que ya se tenía establecida. En este sentido, la presente investigación busca mostrar cómo a través de la adquisición y el análisis de metadatos generados a partir de las actividades individuales en Moodle, tanto de profesores como de estudiantes, es posible el diseño y la implementación de plugins que aseguren una mejor interacción y experiencias adaptativas o individualizadas dentro de la plataforma. Para ello se diseña e implementa un plugin de mensajería automática haciendo uso y análisis de los metadatos en Moodle.
