Este trabajo tuvo como principal objetivo determinar la factibilidad en la implementación de la tecnología 5G en el cantón Bolívar como una mejora viable al servicio móvil avanzado. La ejecución de esta investigación se efectuó identificando las ventajas y desventajas de adoptar esta tecnología en la localidad, para entender la usabilidad de la nueva tecnología fue necesario mostrar las características de la tecnología 4G y 5G y establecer los rasgos más relevantes, luego se procedió a realizar la delimitación del caso de estudio y a examinar la cobertura en el cantón, además se analizó la factibilidad operacional, técnica, legal y económica. Las herramientas tecnológicas utilizadas fueron la aplicación “Antenas del Celular” y el servicio de Google Earth. Es importante resaltar que para que exista la tecnología 5G, primero, debe establecerse la tecnología 4G en el cantón, y esta última, aún no tiene cobertura en toda la zona de estudio.
The main objective of this work was to determine the feasibility of implementing 5G technology in the Bolívar canton as a viable improvement to the advanced mobile service. The execution of this investigation was carried out identifying the advantages and disadvantages of adopting this technology in the locality, to understand the usability of the new technology it was necessary to show the characteristics of 4G and 5G technology and establish the most relevant features, then proceeded to carry out the delimitation of the case study and examine the coverage in the canton, in addition, the operational, technical, legal and economic feasibility was analyzed. The technological tools used were the application “Antenas del Celular” and the Google Earth service. It is important to highlight that for 5G technology to exist, first, 4G technology must be established in the canton, and the latter still does not have coverage in the entire study area.
