El mundo del trabajo no es ajeno a la nueva realidad climática que vivimos en el planeta. Fruto de ello son las nuevas regulaciones y medidas que se están arbitrando por parte de los poderes públicos, empresas, patronales u otras instituciones, con la finalidad de proteger y preservar la salud de los trabajadores. Especialmente aquellos trabajadores que desarrollan su prestación de servicios al aire libre y, por tanto, expuestos a las condiciones climáticas. A raíz del calentamiento global como efecto del cambio climático, se están viviendo con más frecuencia episodios de olas de calor que llevan asociadas altas temperaturas durante los meses de verano. Los riesgos laborales para las personas trabajadoras que están al aire libre soportando altas temperaturas durante una jornada laboral prolongada se acentúan sensiblemente.
Un sector donde la mayoría de los profesionales realizan su actividad laboral al aire libre es el deportivo. De forma muy común, los espectáculos deportivos son en recintos exteriores o bien en la naturaleza, teniendo que, necesariamente, convivir con las condiciones meteorológicas que se den en el momento determinado. Además, a ello se le une que las temporadas y competiciones deportivas cada vez se están prolongando más y adelantando su inicio, por lo que, irremediablemente, los deportistas practican su modalidad deportiva en los meses de verano teniendo que tomar medidas que aminoren o minimicen los riesgos laborales derivados de realizar deporte soportando altas temperaturas.

The result of this are the new regulations and measures that are being adopted by public powers, companies, employers or other institutions, with the aim of protecting and preserving the health of workers. Especially those workers who carry out their services outdoors and, therefore, exposed to weather conditions. As a result of global warming as an effect of climate change, episodes of heat waves that are associated with high temperatures during the summer months are being experienced more frequently. The occupational risks for workers who are outdoors enduring high temperatures during a long working day are significantly accentuated.
A sector where the majority of professionals carry out their work outdoors is sports. Very commonly, sports events take place outdoors or in nature, necessarily having to coexist with the weather conditions that occur at the given time. Furthermore, added to this is the fact that sports seasons and competitions are becoming increasingly longer and their start is being brought forward, which is why, inevitably, athletes practice their sports in the summer months, having to take measures to reduce or minimize the occupational risks derived from playing sports while enduring high temperatures.
