El presente estudio aborda la intervención de la Inquisición en la defensa de la Iglesia frente al regalismo borbónico durante el primer tercio del siglo XVIII. Se analiza esta cuestión a través de un expediente de censura que se tramita contra un manifiesto publicado por el intendente de Valencia en respuesta a las quejas expresadas por el cabildo eclesiástico de dicha ciudad a raíz de las reformas fiscales borbónicas que atentaban contra las inmunidades eclesiásticas.
This study deals with the intervention of the Inquisition in the defence of the Ecclesiastical Institution against Bourbon regalism during the first third of the 18th century. This issue is analysed through a censorship case against a manifesto published by the intendant of Valencia in response to the complaints expressed by the cathedral chapter of that city as a result of the Bourbon tax reforms that attacked ecclesiastical immunities.
