  Este trabajo pretende identificar un cuadro anónimo del siglo XVIII del Museo de Jaén, ubicado en la sección de Bellas Artes. Lo hemos titulado Mercurio se enamora de Herse, una de las pocas aventuras amorosas que se le atribuyen a este dios. Su iconografía encaja con la de otras pinturas que tratan el mismo tema, que también estudiamos aquí, junto a la fuente literaria (Metamorfosis de Ovidio) que probablemente inspiró esta escena.

  This work aims to identify an anonymous eighteenth-century painting from the Jaén Museum, located in the Fine Arts section. We have titled it Mercury falls in love with Herse, one of the few love affairs attributed to this god. Its iconography fits with that of other paintings dealing with the same theme, which we also study here, together with the literary source (Ovid’s Metamorphoses) that probably inspired this scene.
