Edificada en el último tercio del siglo XVI, la Veracruz acoge en la actualidad un Cristo crucificado de Mariano Benlliure. En este artículo damos a conocer parte de la historia del templo, aportando información que nos remite a los siglos XVI y XVII; de la importancia que adquirirá el templo al finalizar el siglo XIX; y, por último, de la historia más reciente de este centro religioso.
Built in the last third of the 16th century, the Veracruz temple currently houses a Christ by Mariano Benlliure. In this article we present part of the history of the temple, providing information that takes us back to the 16th and 17th centuries; of the importance that the temple will acquire at the end of the 19th centuy; and, finally, it talks about the most recent history of this religious center.
