La tesis forma parte de la producción científica de las universidades y en el caso de los estudiantes de pregrado, les permite alcanzar el título profesional. Diversos estudios sostienen que el proceso de elaboración de la tesis está condicionado por diversos factores que pueden impedir el éxito y alcanzar el título profesional. En el presente artículo se presenta una investigación acerca de las limitaciones que se presenta en el proceso de elaboración de la tesis, según la percepción de los estudiantes de pregrado de una carrera de ingeniería. La metodología se basa en un enfoque cuantitativo y transversal. En la encuesta participaron 112 estudiantes. Los resultados evidenciaron que no existían diferencias significativas en cuanto al género ni al ciclo de estudio, en las limitaciones para elaborar la tesis. Asimismo, los estudiantes mencionaron aspectos que deben ser gestionados tales como la gestión del tiempo, el compromiso y el trabajo en equipo. La comprensión de las limitaciones en el proceso de elaboración de tesis permite a los docentes brindar mayor apoyo al estudiante en el proceso de investigación.
The thesis is part of the scientific production of universities and in the case of undergraduate students, allows them to achieve the professional title. Several studies argue that the process of preparing the thesis is conditioned by various factors that can prevent success and achieve the professional title. This article presents the limitations that occur in the process of preparing the thesis, according to the perception of undergraduate students of an engineering career. The methodology is based on a quantitative and transversal approach. The survey involved 112 students. The results showed that there were no significant differences in terms of gender or study cycle, in the limitations to elaborate the thesis. Likewise, the students mentioned aspects that must be managed such as time management, commitment, and teamwork. Understanding the limitations in the thesis writing process allows professors to provide greater support to the student in the research process.
