En 2024, inmersos en la era digital, observamos como la inteligencia artificial, que ya es un hecho (no una fantasía de cine hollywoodiense), ha permitido el desarrollo de nuevas tecnologías que presentan numerosas ventajas para el avance de la sociedad, aunque también riesgos. Los abogados y abogadas tienen la obligación de adaptarse a este nuevo escenario, utilizando las herramientas que la IA pone a su alcance y respetando, al mismo tiempo, las normas deontológicas que rigen la profesión. Como expertos, deben ser capaces de garantizar un derecho de defensa que no quede mermado por la incontrolable irrupción de las tecnologías disruptivas.
In 2024, immersed in the digital age, we observe how artificial intelligence, which is already a fact (not a Hollywood movie fantasy), has allowed the development of new technologies that present numerous advantages for the advancement of society, but also risks. Lawyers have the obligation to adapt to this new scenario, using the tools that AI puts at their disposal and respecting, at the same time, the ethical standards that govern the profession. As experts, they must be able to guarantee a right of defense that is not diminished by the uncontrollable emergence of disruptive technologies.
