• Resumen

  • This article revolves around two focal subjects: parliamentary procedures and democratization. On the one hand it explores the use of the term ‘democratization’ in the Italian parliamentary debate during the Liberal Age (1861–1922). On the other hand, it tries to clarify how the general trend of democratization, in particular the extensions of suffrage and the birth of mass parties, affected parliamentary practices in Italy.
